Is immigration good or not? Why?

On Tuesday September 30, i attended the students led discussion. The topic was "Immigration is good or not ? why?". In the class, there were two people who are currently immigrations and rest of them were international student. i remember it was about 10 people in that led discussion.

Some people think is good to be immigration and some people think is not to be immigrations. what we found out on that class was some country are not even allow to have two citizenship. They must give up one or the other. country such as China. I am from Taiwan, and in my country we are fine with two citizen ships.

In my case, i am in fact count as half citizenship. why? Because my family is waiting for the government's paper so that we can become Canadian, at the same time, my parents have to come to Canada and live for at least three years in order to become a citizenship. My self is fine because i have been in canada for three years and not my parents, therefore, i am not a real citizenship yet.

On the other hand, country like china are not the same as my country. From the class, the student from china told us that their country is not allow other citizenship. If they wanted to become Canadian, they will have to give up the Chinese citizenship, at the same time, you will have to pay almost $30,000 for one person to immigrate. This is a lot of money and student from china said that why most of the Chinese student are international students.

In addition, there are other advantage of immigrate such as reduce the Tuition fees. Students like us, international student, will have to pay double money for go to school in Canada, either high school or University, we have to pay more than the Canadian, therefore, if u are a student as a immigrate, you will only need to pay half of the money compare to the international student. moreover, as a immigrate, you can also get a health care and lots of benefit from the government but as an international student you will not have a health care system.

In conclusion, half of our classmate will like to immigrate if they are planning to continue their education in Canada because it can reduce their Tuition fees and have a great health care system, but some of the classmate disagree because they think is a wast of time and money, they will have to pay a lot to be immigrate and they will have to wait like certain time to become immigrate, as they are not planning to continue the education in Canada, they think being as an international is in fact better than immigrate. WHAT DO U THINK ? DO U AGREE OR DISAGREE IMMIGRATION?

TAIWAN and BUBBLE TEA !!!

In my U-life class we have to introduce our culture, the only thing i could really thing about is BUBBLE TEA !!!

Everyone knows that bubble tea is delicious but no one knows that it was in fact from Taiwan!
so, where is Taiwan?
Taiwan is located beside the main land China. It is a small island. The capital city of Taiwan is called Taipei.

The geography of Taiwan:

The island of Taiwan lies some 120 kilometers off the southeastern coast of mainland China, across the Taiwan Strait, and has an area of 35,801 km2 (13,822.8 sq mi). The East China Sea lies to the north, the Philippine Sea to the east, the Luzon Strait directly to the south and the South China Sea to the southwest. The island is characterized by the contrast between the eastern two-thirds, consisting mostly of rugged mountains running in five ranges from the northern to the southern tip of the island, and the flat to gently rolling plains in the west that are also home to most of Taiwan's population. Taiwan's highest point is the Yu Shan at 3,952 meters, and there are five other peaks over 3,500 meters. This makes it the world's seventh-highest island. Taroko National Park, located on the mountainous eastern side of the island, has good examples of mountainous terrain, gorges and erosion caused by a swiftly flowing river. The shape of the main island of Taiwan is similar to a sweet potato seen in a south-to-north direction, and therefore,Taiwanese people, especially the Min-nan division, often call themselves "children of the Sweet Potato."[21] There are also other interpretations of the island shape, one of which is a whale in the ocean (the Pacific Ocean) if viewed in a west-to-east direction, which is a common orientation in ancient maps, plotted either by Western explorers or the Qing Dynasty.

Bubble tea:

Bubble tea, also called "Boba" tea, is a tea beverage that originated in Taiwan in the 1980s and migrated to Canada before spreading to Chinatown in New York, then to various spots throughout the West Coast of the United States[1]. The literal translation from Chinese is pearl milk tea (traditional Chinese: 珍珠奶茶; Hanyu Pinyin: zhēnzhū nǎichá; Tongyong Pinyin: jhenjhu nǎichá). The word "bubble" refers to "bubbling", the process by which certain types of bubble tea are made, and not the actual tapioca balls. The balls are often called "pearls." Drinks with large pearls are consumed along with the beverage through wide straws; while drinks with small pearls are consumed through normal straws. Bubble tea is especially popular in many East Asian and Southeast Asian regions such as Taiwan, China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Brunei, Malaysia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and more recently popularized in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Perú.
